Best Time to Go

Gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking are possible all year round. However, the best time to visit Uganda for gorilla trekking and wildlife safaris is during the dry seasons: June to September and December to February. During these months, the trails are less muddy, the roads are better, and wildlife is easier to see.

The wet seasons (March to May and October to November) bring lush green landscapes, fewer crowds, and lower prices, but trekking can be more challenging.

Here are some essential items for your Uganda safari:

  • Waterproof hiking boots with good ankle support
  • Long-sleeved shirts and long trousers (lightweight, quick-drying)
